A Little About Me
The life behind The Rhuda Edit.

Hi, I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m a wife, mama to a fiercely spirited little girl, former United States Marine, and someone who has taken a few unexpected detours on the way to figuring out what she wants to be when she grows up.
If you had told my 17-year-old self, who was practically stalking the Marine Corps recruiters at her high school, that one day she’d be writing a lifestyle blog about motherhood, home, recipes, and everything in between, she probably would have laughed.
But here we are.
I grew up in a military family and knew from an early age that I wanted to become a Marine. At 17, with my dad’s signature and a whole lot of determination, I enlisted. Those years took me across the country, overseas, and through some of the most beautiful, challenging, and defining experiences of my life.
After the military, I traded my combat boots for college textbooks, changed my major more times than I’d like to admit, and eventually earned a degree in biotechnology. I went on to work in pharmaceutical clinical trial manufacturing, helping produce investigational treatments for cancer patients.
Somewhere along the way, life took a few turns I never could have anticipated.
There were heartbreaking losses, unexpected medical diagnoses, and challenges that changed the way I saw the world. My journey to motherhood was anything but straightforward. After navigating stage IV endometriosis, infertility, surgeries, and IVF, I finally became a mama to the little girl who turned my world upside down in the very best (and loudest) way.
Motherhood has been beautiful, exhausting, hilarious, and humbling. It’s also been a season of rediscovering who I am outside of all the titles I’ve held over the years.
These days, I’m navigating motherhood, ongoing health challenges, a new chapter in real estate, and the everyday adventure of building a life that feels like my own.
And that’s how The Rhuda Edit came to be.
A place to share the things I love, the lessons I’ve learned, the stories worth telling, and all the little moments in between. You’ll find a little bit of everything here: beautiful spaces, favorite recipes, travel, motherhood, honest conversations, and occasionally a glimpse into the chapters that shaped me.
I don’t have it all figured out. Not even close.
But I’ve learned that life can be beautiful and messy, heartbreaking and hilarious, sometimes all in the same afternoon.
And I think there’s something worth sharing in that.
Welcome to The Rhuda Edit. I’m really glad you found your way here.
